Quality and safety
Products within the experiment must meet requirements on purity, composition and the absence of pesticides. Packaging shows THC and CBD content and contains a mandatory health warning. For the first time there is product information at pack level, as in other consumer sectors.
Track & trace
Every batch is traceable from grower to point of sale. This enables recalls and provides an audit trail that meets what regulators and police need in order to exclude criminal involvement.
Permitted products
Cannabis flowers, pre-rolled joints and edibles — provided they meet all requirements. No extracts or liquid products outside this framework.
Packaging
- Opaque and child-resistant.
- Label with THC/CBD content, weight, health warning.
- Unique code for track & trace.
Requirements for growers and coffeeshops
Growers operate under strict production and security requirements (see the subtopic Growers & selection). Participating coffeeshops keep their municipal tolerance permit and remain subject to the AHOJGI criteria and local enforcement policy; the regulated supply comes on top of that.
Maximum trading stock
Coffeeshops in the experiment may hold a larger maximum trading stock than under the regular tolerance policy (where 500 grams is the norm). This prevents daily supply problems and matches the scale of a legally supplied store.
