The hospitality sector's development fund
The Hospitality Development Platform (HOP) is the development fund of the Dutch hospitality sector. It originates from the hospitality collective labour agreement (cao), in which employers and employees agreed to set up a joint development fund. HOP is an initiative of Royal Dutch Hospitality (KHN), CNV Vakmensen and De Horeca Bond.
What HOP does
The fund supports and finances projects that move the entire hospitality sector forward:
- training courses and e-learning for staff and operators;
- a free risk assessment and evaluation (RI&E) for employers;
- campaigns to make working in hospitality more attractive;
- better vocational education and closer alignment with practice;
- research and innovation on workload, margins and operations.
Not a licensing body, not a quality mark
HOP issues no licences, sets no tolerance conditions and is not a quality mark. Certification of a coffeeshop's operations runs through the Coffeeshop Quality Mark of the CVIP foundation, which is entirely separate from this fund.
